February 16, 2008
Chinese telecommunications equipment provider ZTE announced on February 4 that it had signed a 3G modem supply deal with H3G (Hutchison 3G UK), the UK unit of Hong Kong-based Hutchison Whampoa, Reuters reported.

Pursuant to the agreement, ZTE will deliver its HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) MF622 modem to 3UK and 3 Ireland. The supply deal is expected to help boost the efficiency of H3G's supply chain capability.

The two companies first started formal cooperation with 3G mobile phone supply back in 2005. Financial details regarding the present 3G modem deal have not been disclosed as yet.
